At Aether Browser (developed by PIXLECT Studios), we take your privacy seriously.
Data we collect
Aether Browser is privacy‑first. We collect no personal data by default. All bookmarks, history, and saved passwords are stored only on your device in encrypted form. Search queries are sent to public APIs (Wikipedia, DuckDuckGo, etc.) but we do not log or store them on our servers.
How we use your data
We use your local data only to provide the browser's functionality – we never sell, share, or transmit any data to third parties outside your explicit actions (e.g., performing a search).
Data storage and security
Data is stored locally in ~/.pixlect_browser/. Passwords are encrypted with your master password (SHA‑256 hash stored). No cloud sync is offered.
Third‑party services
Searches use public APIs: Wikipedia, DuckDuckGo, SearXNG, Openverse, Invidious, BBC RSS. Each service has its own privacy policy – we recommend reviewing them.
Your rights
You have full control over your data – you can view, edit, or delete bookmarks, history, and passwords directly in the browser or by deleting local files.
